Chevrolet Trax / Tracker background information
Chevrolet Trax is a mini-crossover created by the Korean branch of the American company Chevrolet.
The Chevrolet Trax concept car was first unveiled at the 2007 New York Motor Show. The production model debuted at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012. It will be sold in more than 140 countries under the name Chevrolet Trax, but in Australia the car will be called Holden Trax, and in Russia and Brazil the car is called Chevrolet Tracker. The first, in the fourth quarter of 2012, it was able to buy residents of Mexico and Canada. In the spring of 2013, Trax began to move to other markets. Interestingly, Chevrolet did not plan to deliver the novelty to US showrooms, they say, there it would take away some customers from the very popular crossover Chevrolet Equinox, although it is generally much larger. And, of course, do not forget about Encore. But later he changed his mind.
It comes standard with front-wheel drive, but the richer ones have all-wheel drive that connects. The name comes from the Arabic name of the coffee variety.
Trax is built on the Gamma II platform and is available in three engine variants: a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 115 hp. (84 kW), 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 140 hp. (103 kW) and a 1.7-liter diesel with 130 hp. (95 kW). A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, but the 1.7-liter version has an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. All versions with manual transmission have a start-stop system. All-wheel drive versions have a smart 4×4 system: under normal conditions, they are front-wheel drive, but if you notice a skid or slip, 50% of the torque will be transmitted to the rear axle.
In 2016, the updated Chevrolet Trax was introduced with a changed appearance (optics), equipment.
